The search is on for an artist (or group of artists) who can capture the spirit of Nothing Hill Carnival in an art work to be displayed on the Portobello Road North Wall.

The public art installation, the seventh to be commissioned by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, will be 100 metres in length and installed for approximately six months from April to September and will be a feature of the area during the Carnival.

The challenge is to create a striking art work that relates to the local area, reflects the diverse ethnic background of the community and is suitable as a temporary exhibit.

The closing date for the competition is Friday, 11 January. For more information contact John Hampson: emailjohn.hampson@rbkc.gov.uk or phone 020 7361 3204
